Remembrance Poppies

Remembrance Day was first observed as “Armistice Day” to commemorate the agreement that ended the First World War on Nov. 11, 1918. Since then it has come to be a day to remember a range of modern-day conflicts and to pay tribute to all men and women who have served.  It was first observed in 1919. It is marked on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month.
