Marilyn's Photos - Jan 6 2026 - There's No Easy Answer

Are these real cats really fishing?  Or are these not real cats? The videos look suspect.  Two cats at the shore catch a fish that is too big to be that close to the shore.  Only little fish live that close to the shore  Little, tiny fish - like minnows.

I do remember Buzby and Boulemie watching the catfish schools along the shore up north. And there was Oscar before them who hunted along the shore, but he was catching frogs.

Cats can fish. There is a species of wild fishing cats.  The Prionailurus viverrinus in Asia is the cat - and it has webbed feet.

The video of two cats fishing at the shore remains problematic.  This is the one I am referring to - HERE.  I am thinking about it and then notice the videos following the cat one and these are all junk - fabricated or AI. So the answer is in - and only took a few minutes to figure out.

Isn’t it so curious to go from seeing real stories in movie theatres, to television, to computers, and now what?  Only fabricated stories.  What is next I wonder? Will there channels that are ‘verified’ as real?  Will we have an AI detection tool like I have for photos when reviewing them on Fine Art America?

I realized we need something immediately: today there is news about the fake news - this relates to the many AI-generated videos about the Venezuelan Madura capture event that were posted before any verified ones came out.
