Dec 9 2020 - Treasures Found

Remember the treasures that have been buried and never found?  The treasure hunt chase created by Forrest Fenn in the Rocky Mountains is finished.  The treasure was found in the summer by Jack Stuef, a medical student.  It is estimated to be worth $2 million.

Forrest Fenn created the treasure hunt and wrote a memoir that included a 24 verse poem with cryptic clues in 2010.  He died in September at 90.

This story is still clouded with mystery.  Recently the Fenn family revealed the identify of the person who found the treasure chest.  That was due to a law suit that claimeda cellphone of another treasure hunter was hacked and stole the information that led Jack Stuef to the 'trove'.  The chest was found in June 2020, before Fenn died, so the two got to meet and talk.

The location remains a mystery and secret, in honour of Fenn's love of the site.
The NY Times story is HERE.

Do you want to know what other treasures were found in 2020?  There are a lot of treasures found - listed at this website
HERE.  Where were they - in a cottage in England, washed up on shore in Florida, gold nuggets found gold mining in Australia, and the gold bars in grandma's bed sheets in France.  There were bronze age 'hoards' discovered in Scotland,  an Aztec palace in Mexico City, and 100,000 pounds of silver coins in a pub garden in England. The list seems endless.  So much treasure found during the pandemic year.  Maybe this seeming 'lesser' news is newsworthy in such a year.

Today's pictures are Millie in the first snow fall.
