Jan 14 2023 - You've sold a photo - for $0.01

Fine Art sites came into their own about 15 years ago.  Upload your photos and they produce and ship the images.  I am active on Fine Art America, uploading images every week.  I have a big portfolio on Redbubble, but don't upload many images as there are limitations the number of portfolios and images.  Most of these sites have member groups and had contests, which were fun to participate in.

Not that long after I joined EyeEm, it abruptly announced that it was affiliating with Alamy and all images were to be for sale as stock images. EyeEm branded its image "authentic-styled" rather than studio-created, meaning many amateur or semi-professional photographers were already on board. Our images got co-opted in a way.

Pricing was determined by them. I decided to stop uploading as the amount for a picture was low.   I have been inactive on the site for years.  I got this notice -  you can see what they've decided on as the price for an image.  The very lowest that is possible.

There are many reviews cautioning people about EyeEm as a scam company.   EyEm reviews show low payment as the most common complaint. And then earnings never get received.  They refuse to close accounts.

I guess these 11 photos will be stuck in the EyEm time loop earning .01 cent every so often.
