We watched and rewatched "The Prisoner", the British series by Patrick McGoohan in the 1960s.he quits the secret service, and then is kidnapped and taken away to a secret location.
We went to Portmeirion in North Wales where it was shot. This is the mysterious coastal village where he is imprisoned. He lives in residence Number 6 and is named Number 6. It is a big Number 6 and it was on the building when we visited. The position of Number 2 is assigned to a different person in each episode. the person's intention is to have McGoohan reveal his secrets or else go mad so he can't reveal their secrets.
There is a new house number across the street - Number 2. It is huge - maybe 3 or 4 feet high - standing out in front of the house - predominant on the landscape. I would expect this is the biggest house number in Grimsby. Two doors down is house Number 6, again a big number, but less than 3 feet tall and on the wall of the house. I enjoyed it when Number 6 got displayed a few years ago. You can imagine that having a vast Number 2 is hilarious and fun. I've decided that I am now situated in "The Village".
