Emil the Moose has been seen for the last few weeks in Austria It showed up in a suburb of the provincial capital, and as all moose do found his onto the tracks at its railway station.
He is an illegal immigrant from Poland. The local animal protection organization let people know that they shouldn't approach the moose and to leave it in peace. Something we Canadians know already: "moose, it said in a social media post, don’t need closeness to humans.”
We think of moose and beaver as Canadian inhabitants, but moose live in boreal forests and woodlands across the northern hemisphere. The Europeans call them elk. We don't think much of that.
You might not think of this as Zinnia season. This is when many of the annual flowers are at their best - Dahlias, Zinnias, Marigolds.
