Marilyn's Photos - June 26 2026 - Canadian Clapper
Where do I get a Canadian Maple Leaf Clapper. It is in the news everywhere. It is a red noisemaker shaped like a maple leaf. It was given out for free at the Toronto fan festival ahead of the soccer matches. Currently it can't be bought in stores. I would like that to change as I think we can use it in many situations - here's the quote that can guide our use of it:
"When Canada does something cool, I will do this , clapping together the pieces."
There are some alternative leaf-clapper options. Head over to ocanadagear.com and you can find all kinds of "stuff". These are the noise makers currently available. I would go for the red hand clapper that has a maple leaf on the hand. There are maple cheering hands, but they aren't clappers. Wait a few minutes or hours, and I am sure the maple leaf clapper will show up.
I predict a rise in the use of these clappers - where would we use them? All those recommended sports places, and more. Watching the TV news, reading the newspaper - anywhere we need to highlight our Canadian presence. I especially think it will come in handy on New Year's Eve, as long as we can celebrate another year as "not the 51st state." All over Canada as the countdown begins, the maple-leaf clappers all rise together.
Here's a picture from a few years ago of a pretty garden in Half Moon Bay in California.
