I don't know the future of AI on the search engine sites. It seems ever-present. It is possible that it might disappear due to lack of revenue and high cost given how intrusive it is. That motivated me to make use of its insistence that it "answer" every search as a question.
What are the most bizarre websites? Don't you see very strange names regularly and can't imagine what they are about. AI tells us there are 3 categories: 1. interact and explore 2. useless time-wasters 3. creepy and uncanny
I went to Hostinger.com to see their top 55 weird website picks. Their first choice is Endless Horse: this weird website features an image of a horse with never-ending legs as long as you dare to scroll down. This one comes up on every list. A similar site is Paper Toilet: pulling at a roll of toilet paper and watching the rest fall into the abyss. Paper Toilet has an end, unlike the Horse. Is it Christmas? The site says YES once a year.
The full list is HERE. What about the AI recommendations? Here are the first three in the Interact and Explore category:
Pointer Pointer - hyper-specific website that, no matter where you move your mouse, finds and displays a random, crowdsourced photo of a human hand pointing directly at your cursor - try it out at pointerpointer.com Radio Garden - 3D globe that lets you pan around the world and listen to live, local radio broadcasts from completely obscure towns and cities by hovering a green dot over them - I zeroed in on St. Catharines and got its radio station and then was able to get Grimsby's Window Swap - a meditative site where you look out a stranger's window anywhere in the world, watching a live feed or HD recording. I saw this quite a few years ago and recorded and uploaded a video view of Lake Ontario to this site. They want a subscription now.
Here is their pick for creepy and uncanny This person does not exist - generates photorealistic human faces every time the page is refreshed - I didn't find it so creepy but the message appears that the website is for sale. The people did look real, maybe that's the creepy part.
