Flashes in the sky before dawn woke me up so I got up and watched the clouds passing with lightning every few seconds.  No thunder so it might have been heat lightning.  However, I looked up the weather and there is a thunderstorm watch in Toronto so it looks like the rain is just out of our reach here in Niagara.  There's a 60% chance of it reaching us, along with the heat warning. So today we have the car wash version of rain.  This is a particularly enjoyable ESSO station in St. Catharines, with the blue signs that make for some fun abstracts.
