That was yesterday's headline - Watch the Doomsday Clock Live!  It was updated from 100 seconds to 90 seconds - the closest it has ever been to midnight.  I wondered yesterday about the mechanics of the Doomsday Clock hitting midnight. Once it hits midnight, there can't be an announcement as there is destruction and catastrophe. What's another answer to this question? The explanation came in this hilarious cartoon.   This comic is XKCD a webcomic started by former NASA scientist Randall Munroe.  His site is what-if.xkcd.com   He receives outlandish questions asking for Mythbusters-esque answers based on science.  He has a side blog series "What If?"  Go there and see his hilarious answers to various questions.  I don't see a search feature, one just scrolls through the topics.  Here's one that pertains to my place of residence - Niagara. Q.  What would happen if one tried to funnel Niagara Falls through a straw? A.  Find the full and hilarious answer HERE.
