Feb 8 2021 Give the GIF

Let's learn rhythm notation.  How would we do that?   It would be best if we were somewhere around 6-8 years old and had our favourite foods - hod dogs, hot fudge sundaes and tater tot casseroles.  This is fun and original.

And suddenly there are a whole lot of giphy cats playing piano - maybe they are learning rhythm.  See them HERE.  These are cats playing piano giphies. You can watch giphy TV, and you can tile a giphy to the entire page.  I chose the Black Cat dressed for Jazz giphy.

Steve Wilhite created the Graphics Interchange Format, or GIF, while working for Compuserve in 1987. When he received a Webby Award in 2013 for it, and delivered his five-word acceptance speech (that’s all the Webbys allow), he flashed a GIF on the big screens at the Cipriani Wall Street in New York.

He said in this for his speech:  “It’s pronounced JIF, not GIF.”

This set off a swirl of arguments in response. Both pronunciations are in the Oxford English Dictionary. Steve remained at CompuServe/AOL working on a variety of systems.

So that's a Gif - and what is a Giphy?  The GIPHY website says:  "GIPHY is not just GIFs... we are Stickers, Arcade, Video, and much more. Every day, we are serving 10+ billion pieces of GIPHY content to a daily user reach of 700+million people, helping them express themselves and make their everyday conversations more entertaining."  Can you imagine being in the "pieces of Giphy" business?

Here's the screen capture of the cat piano jazz giphies.  See them "Live" HERE

Here's Millie - looking nice against the living room chair.  This is a typical expression:  Cavaliers seem to worry when getting a picture taken.
