Oct 16 2023 - The Race for First Trillionaire

The two most consistent and sustaining human traits are greed and dominance.

Is that assertion fact or opinion?  It seems to be my conclusion on the topic of who will be the first trillionaire - this is a race for the gold or is it platinum or is it rhodium.  Rhodium is considered the most valuable metal on earth.  Rodium exists within the platinum group of metals.  It is used in jewellery for the final finish on white gold jewellery.

So where are we on the race to Trilliionaire status?

"In an interview with CNBC, several experts recognized the distinct possibility the world would have its first trillionaire by 2039, the year CNBC would turn 50." That was in May 2023

"Leading the race is Tesla and Space X Founder Elon Musk. With a current net worth of US$263 billion and an annual growth rate of 129 per cent, Musk is anticipated to reach US$1.38 trillion in the next two years at age 52. It was in fact Jeff Bezos who was set to become the first trillionaire." That article is from 2022

Are we judging in U.S. dollars - what currency is the defining currency for Billionaire and Trillionaire?  It turns out it is whatever you want it to be.  Here's the definition of Billionaire from Cambridge:

"noun [ C ] /ˌbɪl.jəˈneər/ us. /ˌbɪl.jəˈner/ a person who has money, property, etc. that is worth at least 1,000,000,000 dollars, pounds, euros, etc."

Billionaire status is currently measured in U.S. dollars - Musk, Bernard Arnault, Bezos, Zuckerberg, and so on.

Could it be that we already have a Trillionaire?  There are "secret Billionaires".  Go to Quora where there are always answers for who these people might be.  Instead I go to the University of Oxford to "The Politics of Wealth Inequality"  It is HERE.   What we learn is very interesting.

It says the Saud family is worth up to $1.4 trillion. So our Trillionaire already is with us. It says there is speculation that Putin is the richest person in the world.  Here's the article on his wealth HERE.  For example, his palace is valued at $1 billion. But it doesn't assert that he is a Trillionaire yet. Just the richest man on the planet.

So we will have to stay with the Forbes Olympics and track the billionaire to millionaire race with them. Do they go out and get a medal made or a crown?  How will they externalize the achievement?

This is one of the Marvelling the Mushroom pictures from a long time ago. At the time I titled it Chocolate or Vanilla.  It makes me thing of good and evil too.  They look equally appealing, don't they?

Hunting Bigleaf

Autumn Colours are here with the Virginia Creeper and the Sumac in Niagara showing their beautiful reds and oranges.  Today looks like the calm after the storm - the high winds of the last two days resulted in many leaves ripped off the trees and scattered about.  I am on the look-out for Magnolia macrophylla - the bigleaf magnolia.  It has leaves in the range of 2 feet long with rich colours and marked textures.

The Outer Limits

Topaz Labs provides software filters for post-processing images.  This one creates little fibres and liquid lines.  So here we are today with our mushroom shapes turned into landscapes and alien forms.

Marvelling the Mushroom

I found some unusual varieties of mushrooms at the grocery store recently.  They look like a perfect little colony - older parents and grandparents, and then little children clustered in below.

Marvelling the Mushroom and other Vegetables

The Marvelling the Mushroom series explores the linear art underneath a mushroom.  These pink oyster mushroom are lyrical in the interplay of circles and lines.

Here we are with Rutabaga, and its cracked surface that reveals a pretty purple underneath.

Finally, the red cabbage reveals fingerprints intermixed with its sweeping curves in purple and fuchsia.

The Urban Mushroom Found

I have taken photos of this little spot of grunge at Rosedale and Yonge before.  It was yesterday that I recognized it as an urban mushroom, some fantasy in grunge and garden.

Marvelling the Mushroom Series

Hi everyone,
Here are a few more images in the Marvelling the Mushroom Series.  These are macro images of the underside gills of mushrooms.  They reveal the rich patterns and textures in nature's micro landscapes.
