Is it true that our generation has seen the greatest number of inventions, technology, social and political changes?
Just the word pyjamas (pajamas) got my attention on this. The word originates from Persian meaning bottom wear, or leg clothing. We had pants, trousers, and slacks. Then we added jeans in common usage, not just as work clothes. We left knickers and knickerbockers behind. Pantaloons went off to theatre and circus attire. Britches and breeches faded away. These various types of pants and trousers in the past were a looser fit, given the fabric would be cotton or wool.
In the last 30 or so years, with the ascent of stretch fabric, many new types of "bottom" wear have come about. That's the sign I saw on the Retiman's - "Bottoms Sale". I realized that all the kinds of leggings, track and yoga pants have changed things pretty significantly. What else to call them now? Here's one: What does a puddle pant look like? It looks like something you wear during the pandemic - a type of loungewear.

Again, with search engines, one retrieves all the variations possible - 50 types, 19 types, 20, types, 30 types, And we've been looking at women's pants. Men have lots too. It is an abundance of styles. It might be part of the social overload and upheavals now.
Something that got my attention - a new category called techwear - it goes with all the gaming. These look like military combat pants - paired with running shoes or punk boots. Probably even spike heels. Various tops reveal various parts depending on whether you are a man or woman.
