A four-eared kitten made the news.  Yes, it has four ears.  It was rescued in Tennessee and is named Audio,. The article says he is “set to be a small internet celebrity.” What had gotten my attention is  Barivel, the Maine Coon cat in Italy who holds the world record as the longest cat - 120 centimetres. That’s four feet - a very long cat. The cat records include oldest cat, (38 years) oldest living cat, tallest domestic cat.  There are two listings for longest cat - Stewie - longest domestic cat ever, at 48.5 inches -  so Stewie must have passed on. Barivel is the longest living cat. There’s more records - the longest fur, the longest tail, the loudest purr, and the most tricks in a minute.   This all has been inspired by Harry, one of the Rotarians at the raffle draw yesterday. He  showed me a picture of his Maine Coon - only 2 years old and at least 3 feet long.   In comparison to Millie, I expect there are multiple more records for dogs.  They seem to be up to more human kinds of activities. I would have thought that made dogs more genetically similar to us than cats, but no, cats are 90% vs a dog’s 84% shared DNA.  On the other hand, I saw this funny screen shot and realized cats and humans are highly related. There’s Sophie in the garden in the Autumn.  She looks like a little Bobcat there, with her tail tucked under.  She’s staring at the latch on the garden gate door.  Proof that the sign above is accurate.

What is a silly thing to you?  Cute, funny things that don't make a big difference but get us laughing.  Not the AP Stories that are listed in their Oddities.  There's a man in California charged with killing 81 animals in a three-hour shooting rampage, a bull that escaped from Illinois farm lassoed after hours on the run, and half a house for half a million dollars - home crushed by tree hits market near Los Angeles.  We want the really silly stuff.  Boredpanda has the answer HERE.  Things like:  Guy who says God sends natural disasters to punish gays has his home destroyed in a natural disaster. Burglar:  An Oak Hill community couple discovered a thief in their home Saturday after a man told a joke and heard a laugh upstairs. A group of students playing hide and seek in the Harris Fine Arts Centre at 11 p.m. caused a faculty member to call the University Police.  The police arrived but were not able to find any of the students. Biologist who discovers blonde moth with tiny genitals names new species after Donald Trump. Woman accidentally joins search party look for herself. 8:44 am. Report of a male riding bike through neighbourhood yelling racial slurs.  8:47 a.m. Officer stops man who says he's just trying to find his dog, Snickers.

Here's a cute cat - this is Sophie who has joined us following Baxter's passing on from cancer.  She's a Maine Coon - you can see the lynx ears and the long slinky tail.
