"Caught on Video" - today that's a very worrisome expression.
It used to be the innocent world of Art Linkletter. The shows were called People are Funny and before that House Party where Kids Say the Darndest Things.
For an orphan from Moose Jaw, he had an amazingly successful life. Art Linkletter became a very wealthy person, partly through his friend Walt Disney. He initially declined the offer by Disney to invest in Disneyland, but helped out with the broadcasting of the opening - recruiting Ronald Reagan and Bob Cummings to help him. Disney asked what he could do to show his gratitude for the broadcast's role in the successful launch, and Linkletter asked for the camera and film concession for ten years. That was just one astute decision.
Like Linkletter, we've enjoyed pointing cameras towards vry humorous things. I have somewhat randomly chosen two - Henri the cat, and Donald Trump's inauguration.
