Autumn in Niagara

The escarpment forests were beautiful over the last few weeks.  Here's what was found below Brock University on the Niagara Escarpment.

On Grenadier Pond

Looking south at Grenadier Pond, High Park, Toronto, Ontario Canada, this high rise is quite an urban mountain.  This makes me think of the 'City in a Park' slogan on the city park signs.  Look down at the water and there are mallard ducks, swans and a migrating heron.  Look up at the sky and there are condo high rises.

Do you have a favourite view that fits Toronto's slogan 'City in a Park'?  Let me know about it.

Traversing the Garden

This is the month when the transition from Autumn to Winter occurs in my garden.  The hosta leaves have collapsed with the frost and their delicate and intricate veins make beautiful abstract landscapes.  Here's an example:

Hidden Bench This Week

Autumn at Hidden Bench was marvellous in this last week - the third week of October, 2010.  The storm clouds were moving across the horizon to the south of the vineyards, with the full sun shining on the golden foliage.

The signature Hidden Bench label.

Do you have a favourite Niagara Vineyard with a few?  Let me know where you've found wonderful vistas and rolling hills!

Christmas in the Country

Today's post is a farm scene from Mount Albert, north-east of Toronto, where Gerry has the Mount Albert Scale Lumber Business.  This is Foggy River Farm.

A Little More Longwood

The gardens were so very beautiful 2 weekends ago, that I thought I'd share a few more images from the Chrysanthemum Festival at Longwood Gardens, south of Pensylvannia.
