Look at the Niagara cherry tree closely with me. Do you see the cocoon/chrysalis? The pictures of butterflies on weeping cherry trees shows Swallowtails. Edith Smith seems to be the photographer of Swallowtails, and this could easily be such a chrysalis when I look at her photographs. Hers are of the Eastern Tiger Swallowtail.
