Nova Spivack had numerous stories about his father. Did you get a chance to read his memoir? His father was an artist, scientist and inventor. He has also preserved his father's blog - it is HERE.
At a formal reception at the home of an Italian Duke, he took one of the lit candles from the reception and wore it on his head for the entire night. He was introduced to various members of the Venetian nobility and the European art world while balancing his burning little candle on his head, not acknowledging it.
"... whenever my father was invited to a black tie event, he would reluctantly attend, dressed appropriately, except with a black dress sock tied around his neck instead of a bow tie. Of course he would never acknowledge this to anyone, and they were all too shocked to point it out to him."
"He was such a good inventor that corporations like Polaroid, Otis Elevator and others, would hire him to come up with inventions. I remember him once telling me that he made 100 inventions for Polaroid in 100 days."
Nova speaks highly of his father's art, but I was unable to find any pictures of his sculptures and other art work to show you. So we'll conclude and move on to today's National Observance Day: it is National Presidential Joke Day on August 11th.
RONALD REAGAN “I am not worried about the deficit. It is big enough to take care of itself.”
GEORGE W. BUSH “These stories about my intellectual capacity really get under my skin. You know, for a while I even thought my staff believed it. There on my schedule first thing every morning it said, ‘Intelligence Briefing.'”
